Research on Gamut Visualization Method of the Color Output Device

ABSTRACT:

Completely different color output devices typically possess totally different color gamut. The visual description of color gamut on an output device is terribly important for understanding the performance of the equipment and predicting color image output impact. Based mostly on the layer cutting methodology on the lightness axes' chromaticity coordinate, this paper provides a replacement method to get the scattered point cloud of layer, extract boundary sample points of scattered purpose cloud, and achieve the device gamut boundary curve on slice with the employment of piecewise quadratic B-spline curves. All boundary curves of the identical device will be shown in the identical coordinate system with this methodology, and ultimately the complete color gamut visualization results of the output device will be achieved.
