Calibration and Validation of ZY-3 Optical Sensors

PROJECT TITLE :

Calibration and Validation of ZY-3 Optical Sensors

ABSTRACT:

As the primary Chinese civilian high-resolution remote-sensing satellite, Ziyuan three (ZY-3) is provided with nadir, forward, and backward cameras for stereo mapping. So as to acquire high-resolution mapping accuracy, in-orbit sensor calibration may be a significantly crucial procedure after the satellite is launched and orbiting. The key downside of in-orbit sensor calibration is analyzed primarily based on the general structural design and imaging geometric characteristics of ZY-three. During this paper, a rigorous imaging model of ZY-3 and an inside orientation model are established based mostly on the satellite's designed configuration, charge-coupled device splicing, and imaging characteristics. A brand new trajectory model, that is called the outside orientation model, is proposed, which establishes a scientific-error model for the sensors of ZY-three. In addition, the 609th track knowledge are used to validate the new trajectory model, a chunk purpose with a weight polynomial model, that is compared with different trajectory models. Furthermore, different ground management points are selected for the bundle block adjustment experiments with the systematic error and trajectory models of the proposed sensor. It's observed by experiment that the piece point with weight polynomial model includes a higher orbit and angle interpolation accuracy than the opposite models. For self-calibration with further parameters, the model will reduce the correlation of the parameters, improve the solved accuracy of the parameters in the exterior and interior orientation models of the ZY-three sensors, and ensure the correctness and stability of the calibration results.
