PROJECT TITLE :

History-aware page replacement algorithm for NAND flash-based consumer electronics

ABSTRACT:

Because NAND flash memory exhibits glorious performances in terms of shock resistance, non-volatility, quick access speed, little size, and lower power consumption, it's become the dominant storage medium of shopper electronics like sensible phones and moveable media players. However, these client electronics suffer from restricted main memory. Therefore, an economical page replacement algorithm ought to be proposed for shopper electronics to reclaim obsolete pages and obtain free page frames for requested pages. In this paper, a history-aware page replacement algorithm is proposed for NAND flash-primarily based client electronics. The proposed page replacement algorithm adapts itself to the runtime workloads and gives each dirty page a second probability to remain in the main memory. Experimental results show that the proposed page replacement algorithm performs higher than the state-of-the-art page replacement algorithms in terms of the page hit ratio, the quantity of write operations, and the energy consumption.
