Lossless Compression of JPEG Coded Photo Collections

ABSTRACT:

The explosion of digital photos has posed a important challenge to photo storage and transmission for each personal devices and cloud platforms. In this paper, we tend to propose a completely unique lossless compression method to any cut back the size of a set of JPEG coded correlated pictures without any loss of knowledge. The proposed methodology jointly removes inter/intra image redundancy within the feature, spatial, and frequency domains. For each collection, we have a tendency to first organize the photographs into a pseudo video by minimizing the world prediction value within the feature domain. We tend to then present a hybrid disparity compensation method to raised exploit each the world and native correlations among the pictures in the spatial domain. Furthermore, the redundancy between every compensated signal and also the corresponding target image is adaptively reduced within the frequency domain. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed lossless compression method. Compared with the JPEG coded image collections, our method achieves average bit savings of additional than thirty one%.
