Predictive Current Control Methods With Reduced Current Errors and Ripples for Single-Phase Voltage Source Inverters

ABSTRACT:

This paper proposes 2 model predictive current control (MPCC) ways utilizing 2 output voltages with variable application durations in one sampling amount to regulate the output currents of single-section voltage supply inverters (VSIs). Within the proposed methods, the application durations of the two voltages, plus the selection of two output voltages utilized in the longer term sampling amount, are determined by an optimization method to minimize current error inside the future sampling amount and to eliminate current error at the top of the future sampling instant. By utilizing the two voltages with variable durations, the 2 proposed MPCC strategies can cut back steady-state current errors and decrease output current ripples while not increasing the sampling frequency compared with the conventional MPCC methodology, despite only 3 distinctive output voltages being allowed in the only-part VSI. The 2 proposed ways together with the traditional MPCC method are compared in terms of current errors and total harmonic distortion. The effectiveness of the two proposed strategies for the only-part VSIs is verified with both simulation and experimental results.
