Switching the Light: From Chemical to Electrical [Historical]

PROJECT TITLE :

Switching the Light: From Chemical to Electrical [Historical]

ABSTRACT:

There are many sensible reasons to celebrate lightweight besides the scientific achievements triggered by al-Haytham's work 1,00zero years ago, which was described within the 'Historical' column in the last issue of IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine [one]. Long before Maxwell discovered the secret nature of sunshine, mankind had learned the way to manage it to boost life. Far back within the Stone Age, 1.5-zero.5 million years ago, ancient progenitors of contemporary man were ready to conserve fire and use it in many ways, including lighting the dark of the night, promoting socialization among the individuals gathered around the hearth. A lot of later, the light of oil lamps and candles illuminated the dwellings and palaces of ancient and classical civilizations, permitting a a lot of richer social life once dusk [two].
