Forging Skill-Rich Workers: How One Firm Adopted a Training and Pay Structure to Launch a Dynamic Company Culture

ABSTRACT:

Faced with an inequitable pay structure and a training system that left maintenance employees as "silo experts," leading to workflow disruptions, one industrial company scrapped its system four years ago and restarted with a full new concept in mind. Though the new coaching program is still a piece in progress, the result so way has generated an organization culture that spreads responsibility, leading associates to feel additional of a sense of private ownership. It has additionally created pay and standing incentives for workers to energetically expand and deepen their skill sets, leading to a bigger sense of private fulfillment and an increased workflow integrity.
