A Sensor less Power Reserve Control Strategy for Two-Stage Grid-Connected PV Systems - 2017

ABSTRACT:

Thanks to the still increasing penetration of grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems, advanced active power management functionalities are introduced in grid laws. A power reserve management, where namely the active power from the PV panels is reserved during operation, is required for grid support. In this paper, a cost-effective answer to realize the power reserve for 2-stage grid-connected PV systems is proposed. The proposed resolution routinely employs a maximum power point tracking management to estimate the accessible PV power and a relentless power generation (CPG) control to realize the ability reserve. In this method, the solar irradiance and temperature measurements that are employed in typical power reserve control schemes to estimate the on the market PV power aren't needed, and thereby, being a sensorless approach with reduced price. Experimental tests have been performed on a 3-kW 2-stage single-section grid-connected PV system, where the facility reserve management is achieved upon demands.
