Continuation power flow with adaptive stepsize control via convergence monitor

PROJECT TITLE :

Continuation power flow with adaptive stepsize control via convergence monitor

ABSTRACT :

A continuation power flow technique with adaptive step size is proposed. Two approaches are used to predict the step size. 1st, convergence monitor is proposed to predict step size. This step size is compared with the step sizes obtained by the primary-order sensitivity of Q-generation and voltage with respect to a parameter. Whichever step size is smaller is chosen to cut back the possibility of divergence and to house discrete controls. Convergence monitor is capable of detecting potential divergence in corrector among 3 iterations. The tactic of detecting limit-induced bifurcation is proposed by suggests that of sensitivity. The proposed approach is tested on a 300 bus system as well as a sensible system. The performance shows that it needs a lot of less time and will not would like the essential buses preselected.
