Automated Engine Calibration of Hybrid Electric Vehicles

Automated Engine Calibration of Hybrid Electric Vehicles

ABSTRACT:

We have a tendency to gift a methodology for automated engine calibration, by optimizing engine management settings and power-split control of a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). The problem, which considerations minimization of fuel consumption under a NOx constraint, is formulated as an optimal management downside. By applying Pontryagin's most principle, this paper shows that the problem is separable in space. In the case where the bounds of battery state of charge don't seem to be activated, we tend to show that the optimization downside is also separable in time. The optimal answer is obtained by iteratively solving the facility-split control problem using dynamic programming or the equivalent consumption minimization strategy. Furthermore, we have a tendency to gift a computationally economical suboptimal answer, that aims at reducing the quantity of power-split optimizations required. An example is provided concerning optimization of engine management settings and power-split management of a parallel HEV.
